About Me
Hello, my name is Chris Hayes and I'd like to welcome you to my personal 'web'
stomping grounds! I have been programming in an amature role for over 20 years. It all started out with a Commedore
Vic 20 moved up to a Commedore 64 and well, we all know that it goes up from there.
In my current role at work I have the opportunity to program in VBA. VBA stands for 'Visual Basic for
Applications' and is a great language for beginner programmers to learn by. It basically originates
from Visual Basic (not the .net version but the original.) I found that I didn't forget a whole lot
from my 'Commedore/BASIC' days. There were new things to learn but most of the basic concepts
are
the same. Therefore, all those days of programming 'games' on my Vic 20 paid off.
From my early days I enjoyed drawing. I took this into my High School years with Art class and drafting.
As the years rolled by I found little application for my 'art' skills unitl I got involved
in web
development and design. It's only recently that I got involved due to my current job with a software
company as a reports manager.
I'm finding out that I still have that programming 'bug' (pardon the pun) in me when it comes to web
development and C#. There's nothing like figuring out logical problems with a program language.
Right now I work with HTML, CSS, ASP.net and C#. I never thought I could be doing something I like for
work but here I am!
I am also a licensed minister and help at a local church. I currently reside in Puyallup Washington.
